About Dr Duc Huy Bui

Dr Duc Huy Bui JP, PhD, MA (AUC), GradDipAppSocSci (AUC), GDMLP (UTS)

Dr Duc Huy Bui JP is an accomplished Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Accredited Mediator, counsellor, educator, and community services leader with more than 15 years of experience across dispute resolution, counselling, healthcare, disability services, aged care, education, migration practice, and community development.

Holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psych-Behaviour Analysis, a Master of Arts, and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Social Science from Alphacrucis University College, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Migration Law and Practice from the University of Technology Sydney, Dr Bui combines extensive academic achievement with broad professional expertise. He has also completed numerous qualifications in counselling, leadership, training and assessment, community services, and allied health.

Dr Bui is an AMDRAS Accredited Mediator, registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Justice of the Peace (NSW), Qualified Education Agent Counsellor, and an active member of several professional associations, including the Australian Counselling Association, AHANA, ARTA, and Community Work Australia. His professional practice is grounded in evidence-based, ethical, and culturally responsive approaches that support individuals, families, and communities from diverse backgrounds.

Alongside his work in mediation and counselling, Dr Bui has extensive experience in vocational and higher education, student mentoring, workforce development, and professional training. He is passionate about empowering learners and emerging practitioners through high-quality education, practical skill development, and reflective professional practice.

His commitment to community service and social impact has been recognised through nominations for the Fairfield City Australia Day Community Awards, Fairfield City Young Citizen of the Year Award, and the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards. Fluent in both English and Vietnamese, Dr Bui continues to advocate for accessible, inclusive, and person-centred services that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.

As a Course Coordinator and educator, Dr Bui is dedicated to advancing excellence in Family Dispute Resolution education and preparing the next generation of practitioners to support families with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.
